I have some variety for you today, which reflects just how random my thinking is right now.

Harry Potter

On the Last Day of Our World by Sansa -- Harry/Draco

Long, plotty, angtsy romance. As soon as I started reading this I knew I'd read it before and forgot all about it. It was a pleasure to read again.

Doctor Who

The Final Countdown -- Daleks rock out on YouTube

Just stupid and funny. It's vids like this that make me thankful for YouTube.

Supernatural

Oath by [livejournal.com profile] elementalv -- Dean/Castiel

It’s not that Castiel particularly wants to have sex.

Bert & Ernie Are Gay (Not On My Watch) by [livejournal.com profile] justabi -- Dean/Castiel

If Dean has to make like Bert and Ernie to keep this one goddamn promise to a guy who full on rebelled against God for him, well, then fuck it. Bring on the Muppet sex.

Twitterpated by [livejournal.com profile] rain_dances -- Dean/Castiel

Castiel insists that Dean and Sam start using twitter as a means of communication (seriously).

we got some work to do now by [livejournal.com profile] atimi -- Many pairings.

SPN/Scooby Doo crossover; rated NC-17; a multitude of pairings (but no bestiality. promise.)

Those last two are pure crack and absolutely must be read by everyone. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kitty_poker1 for linking me up.

And now a request! Does anyone have any more recs for Dean/Castiel or Sam/Castiel or Sam/Dean where they are NOT brothers, or at the very least brothers that grew up totally apart. Must be very well written because my time is limited and I only want to read the best. Boy, I really sound like a snob! But seriously, these are my first steps into this fandom and I want them to be worth it.

What You Do With Your Life, A.H.K.B.C.B. (After the Hero Kills the Batshit Crazy Bastard) by [livejournal.com profile] oldenuf2nb

This fic seriously made me smile. It sweet and sexy with Draco just how I like him, eccentric and a little bit camp. Highly reccommended. Eight parts:

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5
Part 6
Part 7
Part 8

Yet again, I have been mostly absent from online life, aside from a few stealth-like activities. The main reason for this (apart from my terribly slow desktop computer) is because of my Open University course. It's a killer this year, an unbelievable amount of work. I had it easy last year, I'm sure. I've just spent the last few weeks studying Pride and Prejudice and Frankenstein (1818), writing an essay on the narrative voices used by Jane Austen and learning all about the rise of the realist novel. I handed in my essay last night and now I'm planning my essay on character and genre in Frankenstein, of which I have developed an absolute obsession. I have three days to indulge in some extra reading (Paradise Lost) before I have to move on to Great Expectations and concentrate on the essay.

Anyways, sorry for being quiet. I'm catching up on my comments and emails now. I've had to delete all my LJ post notifications because I took one look at all two hundred of them and flailed.

I notice y'all are Twittering again. HERE IS ME

OMG, nine days until The Hub2!! Who's excited/skeered?

[livejournal.com profile] foreverbm is fabulous! Look HERE and HERE to see exactly why we think Michael and Ben are the bestest and the hottest and the sweetest.

And talking of hot, I was browsing [livejournal.com profile] tomfelton_daily and I found a brand new Piccy. Fuck me backwards on a bicycle, how gorgeous does he want to be?!?!?!?!?!?!

My copy arrived promptly from Amazon today although, disappointingly, it was only the standard version and not the super-duper collector's edition which I so couldn't afford but I preordered months ago and thought fuck it I'm not cancelling.

I rather enjoyed it. The stories were cute and well-written and I loved Dumbledore's notes between each tale. I lol'd several times and when I was done I decided I really missed Harry and Hogwarts, all the magic and intrigue.

I'm gonna cut for spoilers now.

OMG! )

Want to see this film nooooooooooooow

The flash of the Bathroom Scene made me squeal like a little piggy. DRACO!!

Firstly, you've all seen the new Half-Blood Prince Promo Pics, yes? Fourth one down: check out the fight or fuck expressions. Secondly, [livejournal.com profile] literati made me some icons from the pics, which are just beautiful, so thank you so much, honey!! ~squishes~

Also, here's a post containing a new location shot of Jack and Ianto. I'm probably way more excited about this than I should be but I'm so high on all the visuals today I feel like combusting.

And now for some recs:

Walking the Line by Silent Auror -- Harry/Draco

Sixth year is over and Draco Malfoy is on the run. The war is on and an unwanted assignment is forced upon him by the only people he trusts - and a one-time arch-enemy just may be out to kill him.

I meant to rec this yonks ago. Plotty, epic, full of angst and lust, this one is a fandom must.

And Then the Heroes Came Along by [livejournal.com profile] roga Stargate: Atlantis/DC Comics Crossover; Gen, (but McSheppy if you squint.)

You would think that grown men would be able to interact with Superman and Batman without turning into thirteen-year-old girls. You would be wrong.

Frickin' hilarious! You have to read this. Please believe me. That's all I'm saying.

I've been meaning to do this for days

Coda to an Epilogue: Twenty Years Later, Or The Kids Are All Right by Maya

This is gen, Harry and Draco friendship specifically, and it's absolutely hilarious. Draco and Harry end up in the sewers beneath Durmstrang looking for their missing children, James and Albus, and Scorpius. All the characters are so well crafted and the children are a hoot, especially Scorpius who is just like his father but not. This is the same author who is writing the brilliant H/D Drop Dead Gorgeous (WIP) and the side story The Way We Get By (Complete) which you should also catch if you can as it's one of the best H/D's out there.

This latest fic is in three parts, is complete and actually makes the official epilogue bearable. I can't recommend it enough.

Wanna know what happened after Deathly Hallows?

J. K. Rowling tells all!

Obviously, many of us will be ignoring much of this. Still, interesting.

Here I go again. I just appreciate recs so much that I simply must pass them on. The HP fandom is so huge, it's wonderful to be given stepping stones through it.

Firstly, [livejournal.com profile] entrenous88 has written an H/D drabble - requested by me - set during Half-Blood Prince. Watched. Entre is well known for her Spander, and her venture into writing HP is a very new thing, so I personally think it would be wonderful to go give her some love and maybe encourage her to write more in the process.

Secondly, this next fic was rec'd to me by [livejournal.com profile] literati in response to my last post, and like everything she's rec'd to me so far, it's fucking awesome. ~hugs lit~ The World of the Living. This is an incredible H/D set from Luna's POV. It's beautifully crafted and the characterisation is spot on. It's not a long fic, spread over just two parts, but it's a fantastic example of how much talent there is in the HP fandom.

On a side note, I picked up the new HP & OotP game for my PSP yesterday. It's hard. I completed GoF in about two days on the PSP and two weeks on the DS, but this? It's going to take months, baby.
suki_blue: <lj user=suki_blue> (HP Lucius pimp by das_mervin)
Indy and I just discovered a new game. I roll his miniature squeaky football at him and he bats it back with his tail. So cute! He was also very cute yesterday when I opened the front door, forgetting to put him behind the dog gate, and he literally leaped passed me and launched himself bodily at two unsuspecting Christians who had come to talk about the bible - they looked quite relieved when I said I wasn't really interested, as I barely held back my great big, black, barking hound from hell. Heeeeeeeee! I love my dog.

Anyway, pimp time. Here's a couple more H/D recs to corrupt you all with:

Second Chances - Both boys are now in their thirties. Harry is a teacher at Hogwarts and Draco has three children from an arranged and unhappy marriage. They meet up when Draco's children go off to Hogwarts and Harry gets involved when one Malfoy child shows some disturbing signs. This fic mixes up two of my fav genres in the HP fandom: Post-Hogwarts and Kid!fic. It's a lovely, sweet story with a nice bit of angst thrown in. It's not particularly explicit, preferring to concentrate on the plot, which is just how I like it. My only complaint is that I felt like I wanted to bang Draco's and Harry's heads together at one point, but that just shows how much I got into it.

The Depths of Winter - Four years after getting out of Hogwarts, Harry lives alone in the Muggle world. He has turned his back on the magical world – until one day, when Draco Malfoy gets into a car crash before Harry’s eyes and ends up paralysed in a wheelchair. Post-Hoggy and H/C, I love this fic to itty bitty pieces. There's not much I can say about it really, other than, if you love H/C, you'll love this. Believable characterisation, mucho sweetness and a nice bit of mystery that, although is as transparent as a window, is somehow very intriguingly and quite exciting. A must-read.

I think that's all for now!
suki_blue: <lj user=suki_blue> (HP Lucius pimp by das_mervin)
It seems that the recent rumours of YouTube-style witch hunts and purging were a hoax, so I've decided to unclench and unlock all my posts. Business as usual. However, I'm still a little unnerved, so I may still may lock the odd post here and there and go into another total lockdown if things look to turn nasty. If you haven't already commented to me to be added as a friend so that you may still view these posts, feel free to do so here. ~huggles~

On to the pimping. I've been feeling rather poorly recently, so I've had plenty of time for reading. I feel the need to pass on the following recs (ALL HP - All Drarry):

Big Dick, Come Quick by Calanthe - Now, I know what you're gonna say, but this fic started out as a PWP and morphed into a long and gorgeous romance. Draco’s got a theory. About sex. And after much searching for the right candidate, it appears that only Harry Potter, his life long enemy, can help him test it out. Post Hogwarts. Beautiful feelings and plenty of comedy. Hot as fuck.

Dancing Queen by Maya - Dudley in leather takes Harry to a gay club. Guess who he meets? Funny and cute and Draco in glitter. Don't miss it.

Gold Tinted Spectacles by Beren - Harry is about to enter his seventh year, and things are not quite what he expected. He is no longer the angry boy who watched his world fall apart at the end of his fifth year, but neither has he completely found his place yet. He is looking for something, and to his confusion it seems to have something to do with Draco Malfoy. Plenty of fluff and feelings, oh my, teh cute. Long.

The Goodness of their Hearts by Taratext - Post Hogwarts - Malfoy Security Inc. is hired when Chudley Cannons' star Seeker Harry Potter starts receiving disturbing letters. I *adore* future fics and this one hits my the spot. Romance, mystery, comedy.

Paying the Piper by Sansa - AU, Non-magic. One small town, two murders and countless suspects. Police Chief, Severus Snape, and his side-kick Draco Malfoy must discover the truth behind the crimes. But new kid in town, Harry Potter, turns out to be the biggest mystery of all. I saw this rec'd just today and simply had to take a peek. I was totally sucked into it. It's an honest-to-god murder mystery that really does keep you guessing right up until the end. I was positively vibrating in my chair at one point it was so damn exciting! Lovely H/D and the friendships with Snape are brilliant. Honestly, you may think the premise is a little odd, but you'd be silly to not give it a go.

There, I think that's it for now. The recs will be added to those on my website at a later date.

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
suki_blue: <lj user=suki_blue> (HP Lucius pimp by das_mervin)
I'm always the last to know about everything, so all you Harry/Draco shippers on my flist, you probably already know about these fics, but I'm going to pimp them in the hope of maybe catching one or two people who are in the dark.

Firstly: Transfigurations by Resonant - Post war with Harry and Draco in their twenties, back at Hogwarts to teach. Beautifully written, this fic is full of humour and the characterisations are just splendid. Draco's personality is witty and cutting and completely believable as an older version of the character. He's an absolute toff who's lost his muggle hatred. I adore the author also; she's written some very fine Mcshep fics which are also well worth checking out, my fav being Abstain

Lastly but certainly not leastly (and I think I've just invented a new word; take note everyone): Drop Dead Gorgeous by [livejournal.com profile] mistful. Blame [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens and [livejournal.com profile] literati for this rec, and thank goodness for them. This fic is...how can I put this...fucking awesome. It's a WIP, which I don't normally do, but I made an exception because this is simply one the very best fics I've ever read. Post Hogwarts, post war and Draco and Harry are both Aurors. They're teamed up as reluctant partners when they're both on the edge of being fired, and from that springs up a steady, slow-burning friendship that has many ups and downs, but is mostly of the stuff that makes your heart swell and your fingers clench. It's laugh-out-loud funny and laced with angst that somehow isn't in your face but instead sneaks up on you while you're laughing and proceeds to stab your chest now and again with something sharp and painful. It's a wonderful window into Harry's mind and how he grows closer to a completely barking mad and totally likable Draco. It's quite long and it's gen at this stage, but I'm hoping for great slashy things and a happy ending. Please. There's also a smaller story being told in the same verse, which is a smaller version but from Draco's POV. That is also a WIP, but I'm almost positive the last part will be posted in the next few days.

/pimp

Also, I went shopping and brought: three pairs of jammies, two t-shirts, two work tops, seven pairs of socks and a pocket thesaurus - all for about £30.00. Bargainus!

[livejournal.com profile] amejisuto wrote her very first Harry/Draco fic Birds of a Feather

It's cute and funny and did I mention cute? Go read!
suki_blue: <lj user=suki_blue> (Drarry orange by literati)
I've been rather quiet lately and apart from being stricken with Multiple Exargeritis Sympathy-Requireous it has been because I've been immersed in a huge fic in a brand new fandom: Harry Potter. Yes, folks, [livejournal.com profile] amejisuto has corrupted me yet again and I've been reading a fantistic fic called Secrets by Vorabiza. It's Harry/Draco and it's set just after the sixth book, providing an ending which satisfies me greatly. It's my dream ending.

I was totally in to Harry Potter years ago, but sometime after The Goblet of Fire, the same time that I discovered Buffy and then Slash, I went off it. I've recently re-disovered it after reading the last two books and now I'm hooked.

So, any others fans on my flist?
