Thank you so much to [livejournal.com profile] mygothangel for the mistletoe on my user info page. So sweet! ~smooches~

And thank you [livejournal.com profile] vinniebatman who has written me a lovely McShep Christmas fic. The Mistletoe Conspiracy. It's so funny and cute!!

I definitely need funny and cute at the moment. As you may know, I've started taking happy pills to help out with a nasty case of depression. All was well until I began to scratch. Now I have hives. ~sigh~ It's hot and excrutiatingly itchy from my jaw down to my thighs. Bugger. I know it's the pills because the same ones did the same thing to me a few years ago, and the hives got so bad they covered my enitre body. Double Bugger. I'll look forward to that.

Anyway, so as not to end this post on a negative point, here is a fic pimp. Most of you have probably seen this but maybe I'll catch a couple of you that haven't. 844,739 Ways to Eat a Hamburger by [livejournal.com profile] minervacat. It's an SGA team fic which is marked as gen, which it is, but it is also McShep - meaning John and Rodney are together but it's not the point of the fic. READ IT! It's the funniest fucking fic and so well written.

You should call your doctor. Allergic reactions can become more serious as you continue to be exposed to the allergen. If your doctor doesn't take it seriously, I'd look for a second opinion pretty quickly. Speaking as someone with a congenital psychiatric disorder, there are many, many antidepressants out there, as well as other meds that can come at the depression sideways, sort of. You shouldn't have to suffer that kind of physical side effect, which is just likely to make you more miserable. *hug*

Shit, this is so typical. I can't seem to do anything simply, oh no, I have to go a get all allergic. I think I'll just keep an eye on myself for the next couple of days until Christmas is over then go see a doctor straight away. Thanks so much for your advice, hon. ~hugs~

Oh bugger that! I am so sorry you have hives sweetie. Maybe you need to call the doctor or something. You don't want to spend Christmas in misery.

Feel better soon. *hugs*

Meep. I think it's too late now. The doctors are all closed and it's not bad enough to call one out. I'm just going to sit tight and see what happens. Heat seems to be triggering it so I'm trying to keep myself as cool as possible. The main thing is that I'm still in good spirits :oD

Bugger! Why do they always start a couse of pills just when some holiday season is on at the same time as the side effects? The same thing happened to me over a Christmas period, and it wasn't till after the New Year that they sorted it out!

*Hugs*

I know! It's happened to me before, too. The thing is, this sort of thing never happens to some people; why is it always us?!

I'm gonna have to wait until after Christmas now, but maybe they'll probably change the pills, which is a shame because I think they are working. Damn.

That just stinks, hon! Side effects are evil! I hope they find something else that works but doesn't give you hives. It's a darn shame these can't be an unmixed blessing.

Hives. Oh, noes! *hugs you gently* Might be an idea to try some different happy pills, hon. There must be a brand which won't make you itch horribly.

Loved that fic. It reminded me of the astonishing range of breakfasts and food in general in the 'States. Meatball subs in Atlanta! Heeee!

Typical, eh? So not fair. And I remember getting anti-histamines last time but I can't remember if the hives then just cleared up or if they cleared up when I came off the pills. Nuts.

Wasn't it great? Teyla with a hangover made me chortle. All those breakfasts! YUM! That meatball sub was the best sandwhich I'd ever eaten!! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

Nope, seriously not fair. You were starting to feel better, so they were doing the job. Maybe you could try antihistamines, as long as they're not contra-indicated with the anti-depressants. Visiting the doc asap sounds like the best bet, though.

Remember how the lady in Atlanta gave us cookies for free because we were so enthusiastic? She was sweet.
