I have now officially joined the ranks of The Great Livejournal Panic 2009. There is a panic, yes? If not, I wish to start one, lol.

No, seriously, after the demise of Woolworths I'm willing to be cautious about the prospect of any company folding under the pressure of the current financial climate. LJ is no different. It's just me being practical. Therefore I have backed up to LJArchive and re-posted my last 164 posts to my Insanejournal (which I should have done as I went along anyway, otherwise what was the point in having it).

If anyone else is interested in protecting their Livejournal posts from potentially disappearing, please see THIS POST. I followed this advice in 2007 and again tonight and it's done me proud.

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Does anyone else here use LJ's tracking feature?

Why does it stop tracking in a seemingly random manner? I fucking rely on that feature because I haven't got the time to check LJ while I'm writing, working, trying to care for a ungrateful old man etc. Firstly I notice I haven't been getting notifications from people that normally post daily, so I decide to check my message settings. About half of them are blanked out, including the one for [livejournal.com profile] we_love_dick. WTF? I NEED to track that so I can put each post in the comm's memories as I go along and I now I have no idea what I put in last. Thanks a fucking bunch, LJ.

Seriously, why does this happen?

If anyone is interested, I posted an essay on collaborative writing at [livejournal.com profile] shared_wisdom. Ever wondered how [livejournal.com profile] amejisuto and I managed two years of writing [livejournal.com profile] griefcounseling? Suki reveals all!

And while I'm here, I'd like to say a quick thank you to [livejournal.com profile] devilishyaya for suggesting Taboo as the answer to my Firefox looses my tabs, arghhhh! problem. It's brilliant and I'll never loose a fic again, whoooooo!

And also thanks to [livejournal.com profile] takhen for suggesting Session Manager which is a brilliant black up.

Now, seeing as you're all fantastically technical, I have another question. Is there a way to make my journal go into the standard plain white format when someone clicks into one of my own cuts? To illustrate what I'm yabbering about, this is the HP fic I posted last week: Tangles. Now, I love my layout, but I think it's a bit narrow for fic. What do you think? Does it hurt the eyes? What I'd like is to keep my layout, but when you click into a fic you get THIS, white like the userinfo page. Is that possible on my paid account and if so how do I do it?

Edit: Got it! Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] iadorespike. I knew you were a clever lot. What shall I ask now ...?
