Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone is having a lovely Christmas. It's very quiet here. Grandad has been asleep for much of the day, which leaves me to my own devices. That would actually be quite nice, but unfortunately he stirs every time I so much as twitch towards the remote control. Despite this, I did manage to get in a couple of hours of gaming on my PS3 and I would like to announce my brand new crush.
Nero

And Dante

From Devil May Cry 4. OMG, it's an awesome game and I don't totally suck at it, which is unusual for me with a game that involves running, jumping and fighting. I have a feeling Nero is going to be my new Cloud.
Got lots of prezzies. Feel a bit spoiled, actually. Merlin soundtrack, Harry Connick Jr. CD, Le Morte d'Arthur and the first Blood Ties novel from my darling
amejisuto. The new Martin Clunes book and Jason Donovan album from my gorgeous
kitty_poker1. EEEEEEEEEE, thank you, guys!. Molton Brown goodies and a funny book of typos from R. And from Grandad, PS3 games, DW audio book, DW S4, House S3, Smallville S6 and Primeval S1&2.
The highlight of the day was the dinner, which came out perfectly and even earned me a pat on the shoulder and a 'You done good, girl,' from Grandad. High praise indeed.
Second highlight was the DW Christmas Special. Yes, it was brilliant. Loved it. Major spoilers under the cut (and please scroll down because some people track and the cuts don't show up).
Going down. Yes, please.
Sooooooo, David Morrissey is NOT the next Doctor. I think I'm happy about that. I didn't think I would like him at all, but actually I thought he was fabulous and would make a wonderful companion. Also, I can totally see him as the Doctor. He would definitely bring something new to the role, but he's not quite right for me. Nearly, but not quite.
Thought Morrissey's companion was a waste; that went nowhere for me. The little boy was creepy looking. David Tennant was at his best and I loved the way the episode delt with all the Doctor's losses, especially Donna. I really think Donna hit him the hardest, as it were. He knew Rose was lost to him, but his friendship with Donna could and should have gone on a lot longer.
Loved the furry Cybermuppets.
And that giant robot thing at the end? Only on Doctor Who, dudes. Liked it, though. It was very well done.
Now I'm curious about the next episode. When, where, what and who.
On a totally seperate note, I'm watching Wallace and Gromit and I'm stunned that I didn't realise before how much Gromit reminds me of Ianto.

Date: 2008-12-26 12:29 am (UTC)I would love to see the two of them together, a male companion for a change (well, at least with this new series of Dr. Who).

Date: 2008-12-26 07:57 pm (UTC)Personally, I would love to see a male companion for a change and Jackson would fit the role more than nicely.

Date: 2008-12-26 09:33 am (UTC)Although I've obviously never met your grandad, I do like him, through your eyes.
Doctor Who was good, wasn't it? The last couple of years, the Christmas specials have made me want to cringe, but this one was fun. Mercy Hartigan even had a reasonable grudge... *g* until she sided with the cybermen against her own species. I knew she sounded familiar, but I didn't realise she was the voice of the M&S food ads. David Morrissey was good too. Doesn't he have a deep voice, compared to DT?
And it had some funny/sad touches at the end - The Doctor's momentary puzzlement when Jackson said that this day would be spoken of for years to come and Jackson's assessment that Rsita would make a good nursery maid for his son. *sigh* *g* Yes, definitely the best Christmas spacial so far.
And Wallace and Gromit... *loves*
Happy Boxing Day, hon.

Date: 2008-12-26 12:29 pm (UTC)I haven't had a chance to watch Wallace and Grommit yet - although by the look of it everything is being repeated endlessly over the next few days!! :)

Date: 2008-12-26 08:08 pm (UTC)Yeah, lots of repeats on. I've hardly watched any telly this Christmas. We've watched films instead.

So glad it is over and life can return to normal.
O.k, well, as normal as I can be.
