Merlin: Episode 2 -- Valiant
Sep. 27th, 2008 07:01 pmKnight Valiant comes to Camelot with his sights set on winning the annual sword-fighting tournament.
Verdict: Yeah, baby! Brilliant episode, fantastic dynamic between Merlin and Arthur, good episode pacing, decent special effects. I won't go on.
I have serious love for this series so far. It's entertaining, fun, original and the potential for slash is huge. Big Win.

Date: 2008-09-27 06:56 pm (UTC)The pacing was much more even, and more professional. Really, this could turn out to be a Beeb triumph if they carry on with the excellent stories and humour. The casting is clever, too - good mix of the old the the new. I know Will Mellor from Hollyoaks (don't hate me *g*) and 'Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps' and he's young but always reliable. Throw in Richard Wilson, ASH and the voice of John Hurt and it's a winner.

You must! Do it!!
spoilery!!!
Date: 2008-09-28 01:28 am (UTC)Merlin: How can it be my destiny to protect someone that hates me?
Dragon: A half can not truly hate that which makes it whole.
---
Dragon: That your and Arthur's path lies together is but the truth.
Granted, in canon Merlin was very important to Arthur, but god they are playing this up for us.
And I very much agree with the second ep being better than the first. I honestly didn't think anything could top the first.
*thud*

Date: 2008-09-28 05:39 pm (UTC)It's good, isn't it? Of course, the slashy stuff holds extra appeal for me. Such yummy boys!
...and you may reply to this more than your emails.
~shifty eyes~ Sorry about that. I keep getting distracted by pretty things. And writing! I've finally broken some of my writer's block, hurrah!!

Date: 2008-09-28 08:28 pm (UTC)It's ok. You've just admitted there's more prettiful things than my emails out there, and that's not something you're going to get a chance to come back from *sulks* But yay at the break in the block! I can't wait to reads more from you =D

Date: 2008-09-28 08:49 pm (UTC)There's no such thing as too obvious. At least, not for me. :oD Haha, you realise you'll be slash-spotting for the rest of your life now?
Oh noes, your emails much more of the pretty!!! Except for when man-kissing is involved. Now, if you could put snogging guys in your emails, I will naturally gravitate in your direction first. See? It's a simple matter of physics, or do I mean bollocks? ;o)
