It's H/D Pimpin' Time!

I've got two oldies and then a community pimp for you today.

Firstly, Per Solum Lacuna - by Words Alone -- A set of enchanted journals bring solace to two very unlikely lost souls. This is a wizarding twist on the old fashioned art of correspondence. What will happen when the mystery writers finally discover the identity of their counterpart?

Long, plotty and great characterisations. This one is a keeper, but make sure you can spare the time to read it as it comes in at over 500,000 words.

Next is Draco in Darkness by Debbie -- Following an accident in his seventh year, Draco loses his eyesight. At first he completely withdraws, avoiding any hint of pity, as well as any assistance; he is determined to succeed on his own. But after Harry elbows his way into Draco's dark world, both boys find themselves in a strange new friendship, and they each learn new ways to see each other … and themselves.

Hurt/Comfort anyone? Come get it. Touching, nice imagery and an obvious love for the characters.

Lastly I want to pimp hd_worldcup. It's being hosted on Insane Journal, but you can watch the LJ version for dates and admin, and friend the RSS Feed to get updated on LJ when fics are posted at IJ. Pick a team, cheer them on, vote for your fav fics. The catch? It’s all anonymous; you won’t know who wrote what. Fantastic fandom fun. I’m supporting Team EWE (Epilogue, What Epilogue?) Thanks for the recs; I've read Draco in Darkness, and it is indeed made of win.
Also wanted to tell you that I'm aware that I haven't yet commented on the last chapter of Parity Transformations, which I loved. I just need some time to formulate a comment worthy of the fic. I adored it SO much. RL has been rather unkind to me lately (in the sense that I've had very little time for anything else). Just wanted to know that I loved it, and I promise that I'll be making a proper comment soon.

I'm glad you enjoyed PT. I certainly had fun writing it and I still feel quite sad that it's over. Don't worry, I understand about RL; I've not had much time for online life either. It just goes like that sometimes, doesn't it?

Once again, you pimp some good fics!! I haven't read Draco in Darkness yet, I probably should have started with the shorter of the two, but alas, i didn't. I am halfway through Per Solum Lacuna, and it is FANTASTIC! I dunno if it's the longest fic i've read, i've read a few looong ones, but good gosh, i'm spending hours upon hours just trying to end a chapter so I can go to bed! I fancy myself a somewhat fast reader, so it's kinda frustrating, but I love the fic!! Keep up the good pimping! ♥

LOL! YIS! I'm glad it wasn't just me. At one point I was averaging only one chapter per day. I thought it was because I'm a slow reader!

HAHA!! I've managed a chapter and a half, i've stopped trying to finish the chapters before sleep. I stayed up til 5am this morning reading, i'm NEARLY finished and it's to the best part of the story, so it's getting even more frustrating that I can't read any faster!!

Oh, and I found out that it's not the longest one i've read. Double Edged Sword was just 20,000 words longer. I recommend reading that, if you haven't already! Warning though, it's 101 chapters long, lol, longer than this one. Ugh, why do we put ourselves through this torture??
