I like this layout...apparently I didn't pay attention earlier because I didn't realize you had an HP one.
But thanks for reminding me (inadvertently) that Semagic did have the ability to post to multiple journals. I'll update IJ a lot more if I don't have to copy/paste the time. :)
That's so weird, I never see HP wank - at least not before all this shite started. And the only time I'm getting annoyed over it is when I see the Btvs people making judgments that they know nothing about.
Lucky you. It's most often in the form of shipper wars. Which I'll never understand, really, you and I probably don't like any of the same ships (in either fandom...well except Giles/Spike and Sirius/Remus) since I don't like slash yet we get along just fine.
Actually I usually hear about the wank after it's over. It's the good side of not being too involved.
I've used Segmagic because I'm amazingly lazy about coding for someone working on a web design degree. :)
No, I don't get ship wars, either. I'm very anal about my ships in that I tend to find a pairing and stick with them (Spander, McShep, Drarry), but I completely get that people have different tastes.
I think I miss the wank in HP because I mostly just float around the Drarry comms which just have fic and art; whereas in the Btvs fandom I'm friended to a lot of personal LJ's where people are much more likely to bitch. I try to ignore.

LOL! Well, there such thing as too much coding in a day. :oD
Yeah, unless you plan on trying to force me to read what you write or like I see no point in fighting over pairings. I have a lot of personal journals from people in HP on my flist so I hear about the wank but generally it doesn't involve enough people I know for me to really care enough to get involved.
BTVS though...lots of comms and personal journals and because of SoGA most of them are not people that write pairings I read. They're judges or people that just want to know what's going on with it. Or started that way anyway.
And as for the coding, yes there can be too much. And I've started handcoding my websites so coding the journal too is just....why bother if one little download will do it for me.
wow, are that 3 new online journals set up in one day? It seems like you are preparing for the worst. Are you planning to leave LJ? Or do you want an other place to store your fanfiction/fanvid stuff? Did I miss (again) a worrysome development in the LJ-rules?
By the way the copyright-fanatics plan to pressure youtube in installing a copyright-tool, something that will be able to recognize automatically copyright protected vids and deleting them. So if you have again stuff at youtube better move it, too
Yep, I already had a GJ from a couple of years ago, and I then set up an ij and a jf today. I'm not planning on leaving LJ, but if the rest of my main fandom (HP) up and leave, I'll be going where they're going. I'll keep my beloved LJ, though and I'll still use it, I'm sure; I just want to be set up for if everyone flocks off to another journal!
Wow, youtube are really going for it! I haven't got any vids up at the moment. I keep meaning to upload them to imeem.

Date: 2007-08-05 06:51 pm (UTC)I've always used semagic for LJ but wasn't sure how to change it for the other journals. When I saw your posts I went searching for how to change it.
