By the looks of some of those deleted comms, good-fucking-riddance, but it's very sad that so many fandom LJ's have been lumped in with them and dragged down. It really makes me wonder what next. When the line is drawn will it go above us or right through us?

Should I lock up again? I don't know what to do. I don't have anything under*ge (by British Law) and I don't have inc*st so really I should be fine, but am I guilty by association? Are my icons offensive? Are my views offensive? Should I automatically be thrown off the internets because I read HP fic and therefore must surely be into the kiddies just because Mr U. R. Kunz doesn't bother to see beyond his big fat nose? Or is the real problem that LJ should have gotten rid of the pedo scum long ago before this all blew up?

flocking will do no good. From what I've read a lot of the ones deleted were flocked.

Yeh, it's all gone a bit mental at the moment.

As I stated on another LJ I'm not buying into the whole 'warriorsforinnocence' crap. Yes people prey on vulnerable people on LJ and other on line blogs but to go at it wholesale like this...it's bullshit! Again I repeat - a witch hunt is still a witch hunt whatever propaganda you want to dress it up in(Mr McCarthy anyone? And yeh yeh I know - it's only LJ - but hey maybe that's where it starts..).

Ultimately you have to keep your perspective - the worse that can happen? Your LJ will be deleted. And yes that sucks but you can create a new one somewhere else. Just make sure you keep your written work somewhere safe.

And yes I panicked for a moment too and thought perhaps I should friends lock everything. Then I realised I'd be locking my last entry - the one that made a plea for a 4 year old to be found, and the post I made about lighting a candle to show your support of ridding the 'net of pedophiles or how about the one in support of breast cancer? At that point I thought fuck 'em!

You have nothing to hide, neither do I. Let those that do be afraid.

Although I strongly believe in freedom of speech, the extreme
views and illegal sexual practices and interests of those who have been suspended were something I think needed to be delt with.

So far, none of the groups I'm a member of have been deleted, but the way LJ is just deleting journals and communities without checking to see if they are really preying on children has made me very nervous. As a precaution I've deleted all my interests and replaced them with "freedom of speech", but I have not flocked my journal.

Uggh, I hate all this, most of the underage stuff I read at Bloodclaim or other Spander sites, look at underage sex as child abuse and treat it as a traumatic event. I look at fiction as just that fiction. I certainly don't see any of us as using our fiction as "wrong" or in the wrong way (no one here is attempting to trap, coax or hurt anyone else). Certainly like the TV if you don't like it don't read it or turn it off. Just find it frustrating altogether, some of the best writers I know on are LJ - Bmblbee, Litgal, Tabaqui, you Suki, Spikedluv, Druffline, I can go on.

hi, erm this has nothing to do with the post i am using so i could comment. hope you don't mind. anyways i was reading one of your recommended fics on sukibluefiction.com and i was wondering if you had a link or something so i could read the whole story. the story is family by velvet crypt and i read part one. if it has been continued i would be grateful to be told where it is. again, hope you dont mind that this comment has nothing to do with the post.
