My computer is back to running smoothly. I've lost a fair amount of stuff but most of it can be replaced easily enough and it was also a good excuse to switch to a cheaper virus protection. Mostly I'm gutted that I lost Frontpage 2003 and my Sim!Xander and Sim!Spike and their Sim!crypt. :oD All fics and pics and icons and fanart are safe and sound, but I did loose the data to Empires: Dawn of the Modern World - I was on the cusp of a major invasion, damn it!

I had another McShep dream last night. There was a scary giant squid and a cage that you had to lock yourself inside so the squid couldn't get you. There was also a rowing boat and the natives slept in nests on roofs.

What else? Oh, YouTube.com are in my bad books. Not only have they taken down all my vids but they've also permanently deleted my account. The bastards! I got no warning apart from in the last two emails which were sent a day apart a couple of days ago. Talk about jumping the gun. Motherfuckers. If I'd realised that could happen I would have taken them all down ages ago. I planned to move on anyway. Shit. Well, at least I'd d/l all the best vids to my hardrive.

Also, I have a real fascination with Lily Allen. Do you guys outside of the UK know her? I'm really into this song - Alfie so I've uploaded it for you to hear. It's odd, but it makes me laugh.

I got a notice to say that I was committing copyright infringement or something to that effect. YouTube got sued recently - I think - so they're really cracking down and systematically pulling down all fan vids. I knew it was coming but I'm just annoyed they deleted my account without proper warning. Grrrr

I wish I did have pictures! It was so cool and it went underground. My Sim!Spander couple are in my icon, though. ~points~

I know that a lot of people have gone over to imeem - especially now that You Tube are cracking down on vids - have you considered opening an account and posting your vids there?

That dream sounds interesting - did you know that dreaming of squids apparently means that you're unconsciously feeling threatened? Especially if you're dreaming about having to lock yourself in a cage to feel safe.... The row boat and the nests on the roofs are a bit better - the row boat means hard work and perseverance towards a goal, and the nests are comfort and safety.

Or it could be that you ate something strange before you went to sleep. When I dream about the boys, it's usually something a bit more basic... ummm, primal? *g*

I'm still undecided about Lily Allen - the songs are bubblegum, easy to listen to but could be a bit much after a while. Though, Alfie is all about my middle brother! I'm absolutely besotted with Jonathan Coulton's Code Monkey (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IPL612EH) at the moment - I first heard it as the track for an excellent Rodney/Radek vid. Now it reminds me of Rodney every time I hear it.

I'm glad that you managed to save most of your computer stuff - it's horrible when things like that happen.

Oh yes, imeem, I've seen a few vids posted there. I think that is where I'll take myself. I planned on doing something about it this week but with the computer problems I haven't had time.

Wow, I must really feel threatened because it was a huge squid and the cage was just massive. Re the nests, the native bloke was pointing up to the roof of the cage and telling us all (I was part of the team) that they all lived in nests like the one we were looking at, and he was so confused that we didn't sleep in nests. Very odd. Hmmm.

Primal? Much better, oh yes. My last primal dream was about Xander sandwiched between Darla and Angel. That was fucking hot, to put it simply.

I'm really enjoying Lily Allen at the moment. I do think you have to be in the mood, but the album is actually very good.

I love Code Monkey! What a cool song, thanks! Of course, that will remind me of Rodney now.

I've definitely learned to back things up now and always make purchases with a disc if possible!

First I feel sorry for your computer trouble thats terrible I should know I had enough of them.
It is great that you didn't loose all your data.

Second what the f*** deleting all your vids plus your account. It would have been enough to tell you to put the vids down and why you should do it, so you would have had the time to move.
Bad times are ahead and youtube wont be the same.
Especially not if they kill all the fan stuff and piss people of.
Hopefully my favoured vids are still safe or stored at least stored somewhereelse as well.

Yeah, it could have been much, much worse. I was very lucky! And now my computer runs a lot more quickly than it used to so that's something.

I think YouTube really are making a mistake by alienating the vidders and the fans. Half of Youtube is made up of fanvids and scenes and stuff; it's best part of it!!

... A McShep dream involving a squid? Kinky. I've actually moved on to use AVG antivirus. I used to have some expensive software, but the computer geeks at my uni told me that AVG updates sooner and more often, so the free version gives you better virus protection. I've had no problems for the last two years with it.

I've heard good things about AVG. I may give them a try next time. I'm very anal about my virus protection and my Firewall because I've had someone try to hack into my internet banking before.

Yeah, I got deleted because of the scenes from the shows and the music. :o( Gutted!
