Well, fuck.
Apr. 1st, 2007 10:06 amSick ~coughs, splutters, sniffles~
Also, I've just logged on to find an email from YouTube saying that my SGA: Star Trekking vid has been taken down due to notification by a third party of copyright infringement. Fuck it and bollocks. Half the vids on fucking YouTube break all the copyright laws under the sun. I know I shouldn't be upset about it because I am technically breaking the law, but still, I liked seeing how many hits it was getting and stuff. Damn!
So, anyone know of another way to host vids? I could still put them up on YouTube when I first post them but it would be handy to have another option so I can keep the live streaming on my website along with the option to d/l without effecting my bandwidth. Mind you, my bandwidth is so huge now it probably wouldn't matter.
I know YouTube are apparantly going through and taking stuff down, but did some evil mother fucker actually dob me in?

Date: 2007-04-01 12:05 pm (UTC)That stinks and it is stupied.
I am also pissed at those people or firms who force youtube to delete vids or force them to close them for the public for beeing allegedly "indecent".
The firms should be happy as it shows that the reach an audience and that their audience loves their stuff.
It is a huge compliment and a free promotion.
They shouldn't anger the people they want as an audience by banning their fanstuff.
Angry customers are soon no customers at all.
And those other people who feel offended at some vids
shouldn't watch them if they don't like it.
Often I have the feeling they just want to be asses and spoil the fun of others because they are bigot pigheads.
How do you otherwise explain that it is mostly slashy vids which are closed to public but there are still some really offensive/sick vids on.
As for an other place to post vids
I know that google has a vid section.
Maybe you can try it there?
Get well soon :-)

Date: 2007-04-01 12:39 pm (UTC)The vid wasn't even slashy! And the song was ancient! And I noticed the other day a vid going around with a dog killing a frog! That had better be taken down! Seriously, there are some real do-gooders out there that really need to get a life and leave the rest of us alone!
I shall check out Google vids. Thank you, sweetie! ~hugs~

Date: 2007-04-01 06:06 pm (UTC)Photobucket allows you to upload vids now, upto 5 minutes long and 100MB in size. I've never done it, but I just logged in to my free account and the option is there.

Date: 2007-04-01 06:38 pm (UTC)Isn't her work awesome? She's responsible for about 90% of my icons and I'm thinking of wheedling more exclusives out of her. I don't have a Eureka icon and that cannot be right. *g*

Date: 2007-04-01 06:48 pm (UTC)She's brilliant! I already had several of her Spander icons and a few McSheps. There's also a Spander banner she made that takes pride of place on my user info.

Not right at all! Demand one! Hee!

Before long YouTube is going to be festering sore of sad work party vids and/or X Factor rejects...

BWAH! That makes me feel better.
YouTube is really going to go downhill fast. It's very sad, actually.

I signed up to post my two-minute freebies that I film with my camera, but I'm not sure about vids with copyrighted info. Worth a look-see though...
