It was exhausting just watching
Sep. 3rd, 2006 07:36 pmGot back this afternoon from a lovely weekend. Some of you may remember that I had a HUGE falling out with C, one of my best friends, about two months ago. I was completely cut up, devastated even, and part of the reason for that was because I'd brought it on myself. Anyway, I finally had the guts to call her last week and we've hashed some things out and both admitted where we went so horribly wrong. We've now vowed to talk to each other from now on, so hopefully things won't ever get out of hand like they did.
So, I went to C's place. I hadn't seen her in months and months and months and had never been to her new house. It's so cosy and perfect and even has one of those split stable doors at the back. I stayed over the night and we were up until about two watching films and just generally laughing our arses off - a sure sign that we're tight again.
Then we got up at the crack of shit. Urgh. C was taking part in the Hydro Active Women's Challenge at Hyde Park. It was a 5K run/jog/walk/wheel and c walked it in aid of Dog's Trust. Needless to say, it was a great - if a little muggy - day out.
The only disaster of the weekend was the fucking GIGANTIC spider in her kitchen. It nearly made us late in the morning and was still there when we got back. C's husband was very brave and managed to get near enough to it to lob it out the back door. This was after much fuss and panicking by me and C and then my final insistance they were either going to have to find a way to get rid of it, or seal up the kitchen and never use it again.
Sleepy now.
And now I'm back, FYI, the next part of Teenage Dirtbag is a little delayed due to time contraints, but it is nearly finished.

Date: 2006-09-03 10:16 pm (UTC)Also - re: the spider - I can only deal with them by hoovering them up. It's horrible but there it is.

Date: 2006-09-04 05:06 pm (UTC)I can't even do that. I can't be in the same room. I have to get my poor old grandad to do it. My fear is so bad that I can't even read a magazine or a book that has a picture of one in it. I have to get someone else to tear it out!

If I'm ever in the UK, I'll let you know so I can come by and get rid of the bugs. the only spiders that bother me are the wolf spiders. They jump
*hugs*
Glad things worked out between you and C.
