I really think it's important to show these shades of gray. Not everything is black and white. People that don't drink can be just as abusive, if not more so, and people that do drink a lot can be completely harmless, soppy gits. I want to show his parents as being somewhere in between. In this fic, Xander's father would never smash a bottle in Xander's face, but it is within the realms of possibilty that he'll get drunk and hurt Xander accidentally. Maybe ;o) Things aren't usually clear cut in life.
I must say that was an interesting image of Angel. LOL! That'll stay with me for a while!! Hee!
