A new fandom to add to the growing list and a fic pimp

I've been rather quiet lately and apart from being stricken with Multiple Exargeritis Sympathy-Requireous it has been because I've been immersed in a huge fic in a brand new fandom: Harry Potter. Yes, folks, amejisuto has corrupted me yet again and I've been reading a fantistic fic called Secrets by Vorabiza. It's Harry/Draco and it's set just after the sixth book, providing an ending which satisfies me greatly. It's my dream ending.

I was totally in to Harry Potter years ago, but sometime after The Goblet of Fire, the same time that I discovered Buffy and then Slash, I went off it. I've recently re-disovered it after reading the last two books and now I'm hooked.

So, any others fans on my flist?

Yay!! Cool! So that's three pairings we have in common!

I love the contrasts too. Light and dark, bad and good: Spike/Xander, Harry/Draco. As you say, McShep doesn't fit that, so goodness knows why we love them so much (must be because they are so adorkable).

I've noticed that 'shipping Harry/Draco seems to be a little uncool. Do you think that's because of the bad fics? I find it very odd that an actual pairing is considered sort of cliched.

The only drawback I see to Harry/Draco is the tragic amount of really bad Harry/Draco being written.

I'll definitely do my best to steer clear! I've been so spoiled in the SGA fandom it's going to be weird having to sort through lots of bad stuff.

Ahhh, but if you look closely at each pairing yousee where it falls together.

Think of it this way:

Spike=Draco=Rodney and Xander=Harry=John

Three snarky as hell and revelling in their lives/characters and three who are in it because they fell into it by an accident.

It all works out. Even Clark/Lex can work into that equation. Hmmm.
