Under the cut are just a few pics out of the hundreds (literally) I took at this weekend's Hallowhedon Convention. I will do a report and link back later this evening.

Just caught up with Saturday's episode of Merlin. That's a bit more like it! I had several moments of squee and I thought the whole episode was well-paced and exciting. Oh, Merlin, I luffs you very much. I really want to sqeeze Colin Morgan.

Showmasters need to do a Merlin convention and they actually said they would if there was enough interest. So PLEASE join the Facebook group Showmasters should run a Merlin (BBC) convention! Come on, guys, Showmasters' conventions are the best in the country so if anyone should run a Merlin one, it should be them. Join and pimp this group all over the internet!

Harry Potter

Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow by November Snowflake - Harry/Draco

Make sure to read the PREQUEL, the fic linked above, and the CODA all in order.

In the war-torn years after Hogwarts, one man has no knowledge of his yesterdays.

Very angsty, but so worth it in the end. This fic just swallowed my day. Loves it.

Supernatural -- J2 AU

Starstruck by [livejournal.com profile] pandarus -- Jensen/Jared

a J2 movie AU based on 'Notting Hill', featuring misunderstandings, secrets, lies, twists, turns, comic books, Japanese-Ethiopian fusion cuisine, a lesbian wedding, several fabulous movies that really should exist, heartache, tequila, some exceptionally awful blind dates, hot boy-on-boy sex, and true love. All told in 42,000 words.

My first J2 AU, read late night at the Birmingham Hilton on [livejournal.com profile] kitty_poker1's e-reader. This fic is utterly fabulous. Read it. That's all I'm saying.

I must buzz off now. Will be answering comments tomorrow and aknowleging that other people have LJ's too. That HD fic pulled me in and would not let me surface until it was done, the little scamp.

Please visit THIS LJ for [livejournal.com profile] accioscar's charity auction of a print of some stunning original artwork she commisioned from UnassumingPumpkin of Ianto Jones, signed by Gareth David-Lloyd at The Hub 3 convention that just took place in Birmingham. I was there when he signed it and he said it was awesome.

Please head over and have a look. Bid as much as you can for Children in Need and The Lluest Horse and Pony Trust. Full details are in the post.

Hurry! (And please pimp this in your LJ's if you can)

Under the cut is my very inarticulate report and few photos from my weekend at The Hub 3 convention in Birmingham this weekend. I'm totally exhausted so please excuse the huge gaps in detail and memory.

OMG so tired )

As some of you may know I haven't been online much recently due to my English Lit exam so I've missed a lot of chat, a lot of gossip and a truck load of fic and television. Therefore I declare myself absolutely blameless for not realising how fricking fantabulous Stargate: Universe is. I'm catching up with Skyplayer at the moment and just finished episode 3. Holy Ancient Starship! I think I've found my new favourite show. Wow. I love everything about it from the scripts to the characters to the actors to the sountrack. I am so on-board.

And just for the record, I really don't feel NCIS: LA. I'll tell you what annoys me most. It's the stupid music that accompanies the 'comedy' moments. As far as I'm concerned a soundscore should compliment specific scenes, not point them out. It's like they are are using the music to scream, 'Hey, everybody, it's funny! Laugh! For god's sake LAUGH!' The comedy isn't the music so it won't make a scene funnier when the lines suck so bad. You shouldn't really notice the music; it should blend. For me, it just plain grates. I'm not saying the series is totally bad, but I'm hearing that it's doing quite well in the ratings and I'm just not sure why.

Have been playing the new Batman: Arkham Asylum game on my PC this week. It's awesome and if I could I'd sit and play day and night and day again. And then night. Then I might get some sleep. Until it's time to play again. I am, of course, rubbish at it, my main problem being that whenever I try to sneak up on a hostile to do a silent takedown, I accidentally whip out my Batarang and boink him on the back of the head -- at which point the hostile turns around and shoots me at point blank range with an automatic weapon. Every time.

Lastly, have been watching Torchwood: Children of Earth again. Made it up to and including Day 3. Can't go any further. Nope. I Just can't. Shall watch more SG:U and this week's NCIS and NCIS: LA instead.

I have some variety for you today, which reflects just how random my thinking is right now.

Harry Potter

On the Last Day of Our World by Sansa -- Harry/Draco

Long, plotty, angtsy romance. As soon as I started reading this I knew I'd read it before and forgot all about it. It was a pleasure to read again.

Doctor Who

The Final Countdown -- Daleks rock out on YouTube

Just stupid and funny. It's vids like this that make me thankful for YouTube.

Supernatural

Oath by [livejournal.com profile] elementalv -- Dean/Castiel

It’s not that Castiel particularly wants to have sex.

Bert & Ernie Are Gay (Not On My Watch) by [livejournal.com profile] justabi -- Dean/Castiel

If Dean has to make like Bert and Ernie to keep this one goddamn promise to a guy who full on rebelled against God for him, well, then fuck it. Bring on the Muppet sex.

Twitterpated by [livejournal.com profile] rain_dances -- Dean/Castiel

Castiel insists that Dean and Sam start using twitter as a means of communication (seriously).

we got some work to do now by [livejournal.com profile] atimi -- Many pairings.

SPN/Scooby Doo crossover; rated NC-17; a multitude of pairings (but no bestiality. promise.)

Those last two are pure crack and absolutely must be read by everyone. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kitty_poker1 for linking me up.

And now a request! Does anyone have any more recs for Dean/Castiel or Sam/Castiel or Sam/Dean where they are NOT brothers, or at the very least brothers that grew up totally apart. Must be very well written because my time is limited and I only want to read the best. Boy, I really sound like a snob! But seriously, these are my first steps into this fandom and I want them to be worth it.

Don't forget to vote in the 2010 SFX Awards [livejournal.com profile] kitty_poker1, [livejournal.com profile] mirasol, [livejournal.com profile] darkhavens, [livejournal.com profile] sweet_exile and I will be at the award ceremony. Hurrah!

I was quite surprised at some of my answers. For sexiest male I put Jared Padalecki! :oO Best actor David Tennant. Best actress and sexiest female Eve Myles. Best Film Star Trek. Biggest Disappointment ... go on, have a guess.

I am back after a month-long, self-imposed internet ban. Exam. Fucked it up. Trying not to get down about it. Now I'm catching up on emails and bookmarking all the fic I missed. If there's anything you'd like me to see feel free to link me up. Does anyone have any Torchwood or Doctor Who news?

Ianto's Box is still unopened, although I have now managed to move it from one side of the room to the other. I feel this week might be the week. I have turned a corner. Not a large corner like on a road but more like a Fruit Corner. This week I just might lick the lid of life. Am I mixing up my yoghurts again?

In other news I'm all caught with SPN (except for last night's so don't spoil me!) and I'm obsessed with it, I'm not at all convinced by NCIS: LA, and I'm so glad to see my Tony DiNozzo again. This is my first time of actually watching each ep week by week and it's already driving me crazy. Need more!!! NOW!

Lastly, 7 DAYS UNTIL THE HUB 3, BABY!!! I can't wait to hug James Marsters again and I feel much calmer about hugging Gareth for a third time. I'm an old hand at this now. The scary shit will be in two weeks when [livejournal.com profile] kitty_poker1 and I will be hugging Nicholas Brendon. OMGFAINTZ!

[livejournal.com profile] lyraeinne has written a wonderful overview of the Batfamily, including pics and community recs at [livejournal.com profile] sequencialcrack. It's fun for those us already into this corner of the DC Comics fandom, but it also fuctions as a wonderful introduction for those of you wondering if a little bit of Bat!fic is just what you need (it is).

What You Do With Your Life, A.H.K.B.C.B. (After the Hero Kills the Batshit Crazy Bastard) by [livejournal.com profile] oldenuf2nb

This fic seriously made me smile. It sweet and sexy with Draco just how I like him, eccentric and a little bit camp. Highly reccommended. Eight parts:

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5
Part 6
Part 7
Part 8

Yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] kitty_poker1, [livejournal.com profile] accioscar and I went to the British Film institute to see the premiere of episode 1 season 2 of Merlin. Despite feeling like complete crap, I had a wonderful day. Kitty and I did the London Eye and Aquarium earlier on in the day and then we met Scar outside the venue for the screening.

I'm not going to give away any spoilers, but I'd just briefly like to assure everyone on my flist who loves this show, that going by this first episode and the mix trailer, season 2 is going to be every bit as good as season one. And, yes, the slashy 'subtext' is still there in all its glory, starting about three seconds into episode 1. From the cheering and clapping, we slashers were clearly a majority. A children's event, they said! Silly BFI. They'll learn.

The Q & A afterwards was a lot of fun and I wish it had been longer. Funniest moment was the person who forgot Anthony Head's name and after umming and ahhing for a while simply called him Giles. WIN!

Kitty, Scar and I were in the front row and Colin and Bradly were a mere five feet away from us. I had several long internal debates about whether I should be staring at them or not. I couldn't help myself! They are both just as gorgeous in the flesh and Colin has the cutest smile I think I've ever seen. I need to think about it, but Colin/Merlin could be my new woobie. God knows I need someone to take over from Ianto Jones.

Bradley is a very funny man. His humour is slow and dry and more than once his way with words had Anthony Head giggling. Yes, Anthony Head is a giggler. It's official.

After the Q & A, lots of us gathered outside for the chance of another glimpse of the cast and maybe autographs. We were rewarded with Anthony Head and Katy McGrath. Kitty asked Tony if he would be attending Hallowhedon, but he hadn't heard anything about it. He did say he hoped Nicholas Brendon and James Masters wold pop over to see him if they were in the country. When I got my autograph, I had to have my usual fangirl moment and I told him he was 'the best king EVA!' He pulled up and puffed out, gave me a big smile and said 'thank you very much!'. Well, it's more or less proven now; I cannot go to a fan event without making a tit out of myself. Who remembers 'thank you for being so awesome!' to Burn Gorman at the Hub?

We weren't allowed to take photos at the event, but I manged to get in a couple before we were told to stop. Feel free to take them and use them, anyone. What's mine is yours etc. Dial-up people beware.

Photos! )

My Googlemail is down. Completely. Very ironic considering the post I made at [livejournal.com profile] uninv1ted this afternoon, lol. Erm, yeah, I owe emails and stuffs and I can't get to them. Am going to bed now because I want to squeeze in a couple of CSI: NY eps. Just started watching it and I'm not convinced. Where are all the guns? Where is the peril?!?!?!

Through the Din of this Loud Life by [livejournal.com profile] carolinecrane -- Reid/Morgan

Morgan, Reid, and a little cabin in the woods. You know what happens next.

My love for this fic exceeds all bounds in the known universe. In fact, I love just about everything I've found from this author so far. Also try:

Once More into the Breach -- Derek helps Spencer relax.

Take you Home -- Spencer has a little trouble dealing with Derek's hero complex sometimes, but Derek can be patient when it counts.

Contingencies -- Spencer doesn't think much about his wardrobe. Good thing he's got someone to do it for him.

So Far to Sail -- Those carnations people used to buy each other in high school were just another way to make kids feel bad about themselves.

The Endless Immensity of the Sea -- Morgan's always watched Spencer, so he knows when Spencer needs help. He just doesn't know what kind of help Spencer needs.

All are Reid/Morgan.

And there ends my recs for the day. Happy reading.

Moments in Time by [livejournal.com profile] shananagin - Dick Grayson gen fic.

Snapshots of Dick and his family throughout the ages.

I have so much love for this. Excellent characterisation. Everything I love about Dick is in this fic.

Homesick by [livejournal.com profile] crch_schatten -- Damian Wayne genfic.

He will understand if it is the last thing he ever does!

In all fairness we don't really have a lot of Damian to go on just yet, but I don't think this author needs anything more. She's nailed him in one short fic. Got to admire that.

Vale Sanare by [livejournal.com profile] rurounihime -- Harry/Draco

Draco suffers from seizures and Harry helps him.

Father of the Bride by [livejournal.com profile] novenmbersnow -- Harry/Draco

Harry's little girl is getting married, and the identity of her chosen suitor is about to open up a world of complications—for better and for worse.

For the Public Good by [livejournal.com profile] blamebrampton -- Harry/Draco

Harry is loaned to the Muggle government to assist relations between the two governments after the London bombings. When his counterpart in the Communications team comes to him with evidence of a plot to expose wizarding Britain, he is all ears. And only in part because the messenger has such a familiar voice.

Dear [livejournal.com profile] literati, ~hugs and smooches~, love from Suki.

I hope you've had a lovely day. You're a best and treasured friend and I love you very much. My life has been richer and far more interesting since we first met back in 2005 and I look forward to decades more fun and sharing. All we need to do is decide where we're going next. I have just posted a small Retro!Nightwing picspam HERE. The pics are from the 1995 4-issue run where Nightwing changes his costume from that godawful disco suit to the sexy and sleek costume we know today. I poke fun. But you already knew that ;o)
